My blog.
No really ya'll I was ( and still am to a certain extent) so busy that I didnt have time to breathe let alone blog.
But here I am. Trying again. I was really groovin for a while there and then life exploded... well, that's really dramatic but you know what I mean.
Today, I am thinking about why it is that I go to a restaurant and eat three times what is considered a normal human portion.
Why does that happen? No one holds a gun to my head. There was the bread.... there went the bread ( yes, we'll have another LOAF!) Then the pasta... lots of pasta ( oh, I'm full... but this is so tasty). WTF, people!!!!
I wonder why I couldnt have put part of it in a container and took it home or left it at the office for lunch tomorrow? I'll need to eat tomorrow.
I'm feeling overstuffed, guilty and confused. Food is my friend...Food is my enemy.
PS: The bread the Macaroni Grill is laced with CRACK. I'm just saying....

Salt Water Taffy is from the devil

My boss brought Candy Kitchen taffy back from the beach. I have eaten way to much of it. I am a taffy addict. I see those colorful little pieces of goodness wrapped in wax paper and I just want snuffle them all up. I have probably eaten 25 of them. I am starting to feel dizzy. I guess i'll stop.
But.
They.
Are.
So.
Yummy!

mmmpie.
PIE.
How can one word bring such joy? Pie. Pie. Pie.
There is something about certain foods, some evoke memories of special times and some create a sense of comfort. Then there are the few, the proud…the pie.
The particular pie I am waxing pathetic about is an Apple Sour Cream delight available only at The Little Pie Company in New York City. This taste treat reminds me of my many years in the big city. It reminds me of jobs I had – and hated – and frankly wish I was doing again ‘cuz they were simpler than what I am dealing with right now. It reminds of gatherings of friends and celebrations of milestones. It’s part of my NYC experience that gives me joy.
I was able, last nigh, to recapture some of that joy through the generosity of a few friends who trekked off to the Apple last weekend. I had talked up this pie and the unbelievable deliciousness of the many varieties so much, they had to make their way over to the shop. I am so glad they weren’t disappointed! I am also glad they didn’t forget lil ole me in the processJ.
So I am looking forward to delving into the second half of that mini hunk of goodness tonight after yet another day slogging it out for Ye Olde.
Pie good.

I don't know what to think.
Okay, so last night I was all about cleaning up my food intake and I drove through Mickey D's for breakfast this morning. I'm weak - so sue me.
I also decided to get the whole Boy Next door thing out of my system. I felt like I needed some answers so I asked for them. I left him a message and said " look if you dont want to see me anymore, cool - just tell me why so I dont make the same mistake again" I even gave him a time he could call to assure that I wouldnt answer the phone.
He called back five minutes later.
The first words out of his mouth were " I love you." The screaming in my head started after that so I cant really tell you what was said after that.
I dont understand people. I especially dont understand men people.
I do understand that the only thing I will ever be able to control is myself and my reactions to things. I am learning the lessons... I just dont like them.

God's tryin ter tell me sumptin..
Perhaps I should lay off the fast food. With the banning of transfats in New York City and e coli outbreak at one of my mainstays of fastfoodiness, Taco Bell... perhaps it is finally time to roll up the car window and to just say no to the junk food. I dont need it, lawd knows I don't need it.
grr... what will I do for comfort now?
